Flue Gas Mercury Removal - Stratocarb
Standard Purification's Stratocarb, powdered activated carbon is an efficient sorbent designed for rapid adsorption of mercury from flue gas emissions.
In 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) for coal fired power plants aiming to limit mercury, acid gases and other toxic emissions across the United States (see link to EPA). Once implemented the new standards will keep more than 90% of the mercury in coal from being released to the air and surrounding environment.
Activated Carbon Injection has been widely tested and implemented by coal fired power producers to achieve substantial mercury reductions. Standard Purification’s Stratocarb is a newly developed powdered activated carbon (PAC) manufactured from wood, and is especially tailored for flue gas mercury removal applications. Its surface area, fine particle size and open pore structure make it highly effective in removing flue gas contaminants.
Stratocarb is produced in a state-of-the-art facility which employs the newest advancements in activated carbon production. Proven highly effective in removing mercury from incinerator and boiler flue gas, Stratocarb is a superior, cost effective treatment technology.
